In Turkey, 61.8% of pomegranate production is carried out in the Mediterranean, 23.3% in the Aegean and 9.1% in the Southeastern Anatolia Region. The province with the highest pomegranate production is Antalya. There are about 50 varieties of pomegranate, varying in color from light pink to deep red, and in taste from sweet to sour.
