What to do before and after Nose Aesthetic Surgery

What should I do before nose surgery?

The nose is an organ where the capillaries are very dense. Therefore, before starting the nose surgery, we make drugs and painkillers that constrict the vessels. In this way, it is possible to perform this surgery without blood. However, bleeding after rhinoplasty is a possible condition. We perform a very controlled surgery so that there is no bleeding. Here are some things you should pay attention to. Before this surgery, you should not use drugs with blood thinners and nutritional support products. Do not use blood thinners, painkillers, hormone drugs and flu drugs.

Is there a list of products that should not be used before surgery?

Do not use the following products 1 month before your surgery date: fish oil, flaxseed, products containing omega 3, ginseng, garlic, ginger, vitamin E. There is no problem with other vitamins (A, B, C, D). Apart from that, mixed herbal teas, legumes, broccoli, milk etc. Gas-producing foods such as gas should not be consumed excessively. In order to prevent and reduce edema and swelling, it is necessary to stay away from mineral water with high sodium and foods with high salt content such as pickles. Avoid blue, red and purple vegetables and fruits.

Are blood tests done before surgery?

Yes. In our routine practice, you come for surgery 3 days before your surgery (on the Monday of the week you will have surgery). EKG, chest X-ray and blood tests are performed, which can also show bleeding disorders. However, in some bleeding diseases, bleeding-coagulation tests may be completely normal. If you have had an operation before and your bleeding is more than normal, or if your bleeding takes longer than normal when you have a cut, you should warn us about this.

Can I have nose surgery during my period?

I try to avoid having nose surgery during menses. Although we cannot always achieve this due to intensive surgery programs, bleeding, swelling and bruising occur more frequently as the nasal capillaries shrinkage due to edema decreases. In addition, women are more sensitive and stressed during this period. However, we are not very sharp about it.

One day before surgery:

Take a shower the day before the surgery and wash your face with an antibacterial soap. Do not wear make-up and nail polish while coming to the surgery. Your psychology on the day of surgery is very important. Our patients who are not stressed get through this process very easily. The patient who sleeps comfortably wakes up comfortably.

What should I do after the surgery?

You spend the night of your surgery in the hospital. From that day, sleep with 3 pillows for 1 week. I think that the application of ice for 10-15 minutes per hour on the day of surgery and the next day has very positive effects on swelling and bruising. It is important that you regularly use the medicines we have prescribed after your discharge. Except those:

  • Do not stay in a very hot place.
  • Avoid activities that increase your blood pressure. Do not tilt your head forward.
  • You can touch your nose, just don’t get hit. Even the smallest blows can cause pain while in the splint.
  • Try to stay in an upright position.
  • After the second day, you can go out and walk around, it will not get infected.
  • You can breathe through the silicones placed in the nose. These silicones can create a cold feeling and cause a sneezing reflex. Don’t panic, if you’re going to sneeze, sneeze with your mouth open. If you sneeze, press your tongue against your palate, it usually passes.
  • At the end of a 2 week splint period, apply the massages I will show you several times a day.
  • Do not do heavy sports for 1 month.
  • Do not go to the sea for 1 month and to the pool for 2 months.
  • Do not wear glasses for at least 3 months.

Thanks for trusting us. Please don’t forget our promise to perform a CARE operation for you and come to the hospital in peace.
