Premature ejaculation is defined as ‘permanent or recurrent ejaculation, with little sexual arousal and before the person wants it, before, on or immediately after vaginal penetration’. Factors such as the age of the individual, sexual experience or frequency of sexual experience are effective in ejaculation control. Therefore, the important thing here is not the ejaculation time, but whether there is voluntary control over the ejaculation reflex.
Explanations for its causes are similar to other sexual dysfunctions. In general, sexual inexperience, myths/false beliefs about sexuality, negative feelings towards the partner, anxious, passive personality are seen to be more important. The treatment mainly focuses on exercises to gain control over the ejaculation reflex. In addition, if there is a special factor that causes premature ejaculation, it is resolved.
