ARE THERE OTHER FEATURES LIMITING LIPOSUCTION?

One of the most important parameters for us in liposuction is the properties of the skin. As the age increases, the elasticity of the skin is lost. When the fats under the skin are removed, the skin on it loosens and becomes more abundant. Normally, thanks to the flexible structure of the skin, it needs to be stretched, recovered and adapted to the new situation by shrinking within itself after the surgery. It may be difficult to adapt after surgery, especially in elderly patients, where the skin loses or begins to lose its elasticity and elasticity. For a good result, it is desirable that the skin be firm and firm. If there is a loose skin structure that has lost its elasticity, a certain amount of fat can be removed.

HOW IS LIPOSUCTION DONE?

Liposuction is performed under local or general anesthesia, depending on the size of the area to be applied. Special solutions are given to the area where the fat will be removed, which reduces bleeding, reduces post-operative pain, and facilitates the removal of fat cells. The area where the fat will be taken is entered with an instrument called cannula through a hole of approximately 3 mm. With the help of the cannula, the fats are broken down and the oils are collected in special containers outside with the vacuum system attached to the back of the cannula. At the end of the surgery, the cannula entry holes are closed with self-dissolving sutures. The operation is terminated by wearing special corsets covering the area where liposuction was performed.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I GAIN WEIGHT AFTER LIPOSUCTION SURGERY?

If there is weight gain after the surgery, there will be fat accumulation throughout the body, and the areas where liposuction is performed will also take their share. It is not expected that there will be an accumulation as before with its share. Fat cells in the body multiply until about 9-10 years of age, and after that age their proliferation stops. Therefore, after the fat is removed by liposuction, there is no increase in fat cells in these areas. As the body develops and grows or gains weight, the fat stores in the fat cells increase. Even if weight is gained when the fat cells in an area are removed by liposuction and reduced in number, the weight gained is distributed throughout the body, and because the number of fat cells is reduced, there is no re-accumulation in that area.
