What is Invisalign?

It is an orthodontic treatment method made with a series of transparent, invisible and easily removable plates. In this treatment technique, brackets and wires attached to the teeth are not used. Invisalign is made using 3-D (3-dimensional) computer imaging technology and is an effective method. Although it is not suitable for every case, it can be applied to some cases.

Why would I want such a thing?

Because they are not only invisible but also removable, you can eat and drink whatever you want during the treatment and have no hassle while brushing or flossing. They are comfortable and do not cause mouth irritation during treatment as they do not contain wires or metals. No wire or metal means shorter clinic appointments and quicker adjustments.

How Does Invisalign Treatment Work?

You’ll use each set for about 2 weeks, removing plaque only when you’re eating, drinking, and brushing your teeth. At the end of this period, the next set of plates and then the next set, the treatment proceeds in this way and how many sets of plates you need to use are all completed. As you use the plates in the series in sequence, your teeth will move slowly and week by week until they reach their corrected final position. You should visit your doctor every 6 weeks to make sure your treatment is going as planned. The total treatment period varies between 9-15 months and the number of plaques used during the treatment is approximately 18-30. However, both the duration of treatment and the number of plaques to be used vary from case to case.
