EMDR therapy, in Turkish, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, is an effective psychotherapy method for individuals to heal their symptoms that are the result of disturbing life experiences and to get rid of their emotional distress.

– Our life is made up of memories, and often problems arise from some important life experience. If we are insensitive to the memory, which is the starting point of the problem, the problem we experience depending on this memory will also disappear. EMDR does just that. When we become insensitive to the traumatic memory we experience (This trauma can be sexual harassment, rape, or a fight with friends. Whether it is trauma or not depends entirely on how the person experiences and interprets that moment.) our sensitivity disappears. As a result, our symptoms do not appear again.

– With EMDR therapy, not only the symptoms disappear. Positive beliefs and positive emotions gained by the new perspective change the person’s view of himself, his relationships and the world in a positive way and provide personal development.

– Applicable to anyone who requests EMDR. There is no specific age range. It is used for therapeutic purposes in most of the psychosomatic or psychological disorders.
– These disorders can be listed as follows:
Stress, Sexual and/or Physical Abuse, Traumas, Panic Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Depression, Grief, Chronic Pain, Phobias, Eating Disorders (Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa), Performance Anxiety, Sexual Dysfunctions..
