Vagina Tightening Operations

Pregnancy and postpartum baby care are the most exciting and valuable periods in women’s lives. However, as with every good thing, there is a price in motherhood. The pregnancy process causes some changes in the anatomy of the woman, especially if the baby is overweight and the baby is born overweight. The most affected areas are the pelvic floor and the vagina. Especially after vaginal deliveries, sagging of the bladder and excessive enlargement of the vagina, which we call ‘cystocele’, are common. Most of the patients who apply for vaginal tightening experience sexual inadequacy and lack of satisfaction in themselves and their partners due to the wide vagina, a sound from the vagina during intercourse or urinary incontinence problems. Vaginal tightening operations are operations performed to remove the sagging and wideness of the vagina and to lift the sagging urine bag instead. If the birth sutures placed during birth healed irregularly and caused deformity in the region, these stitches can be corrected with ‘perinoplasty’ operation during the operation.

Vaginal tightening operations are generally well tolerated operations. Patients recover within a few days and quickly return to their daily lives. The operation can be performed under general anesthesia or spinal anesthesia. Usually, one night stay in the hospital is sufficient and discharge is carried out the next day. If only perinoplasty is performed, the patient can return home on the same day. There is no need to remove the stitches after the operation. The area should be kept clean and sexual intercourse should be avoided for 40-60 days.

Vagina tightening On the other hand, in some of the patients who apply for surgery, mild enlargements are observed instead of a significant sagging or slack. Vaginal laser tightening and tightening of the vagina can be achieved in these patients without the need for surgery. The most widely used laser system in this regard is the ‘Carbon dioxide laser’ system and the ‘Mona Lisa Touch Vaginal Laser’ is one of them. Vaginal laser treatment takes 10-15 minutes, and after the procedure, the person can return to his/her home and work immediately. The procedure is completely painless and it is sufficient to apply 3 sessions, usually 1 month apart.
