Tummy tuck – Arm Lift – Thigh Lift

Abdominal – Arm – Thigh Lift

We call stretching operations to the stretching of excess skin in the abdomen, arms and thighs due to excessive weight loss and loss of skin elasticity due to aging.

Tummy Tuck

We call tummy tuck surgery to correct deformities that occur as a result of sagging of the abdominal skin and abdominal muscles after excessive weight gain and excessive weight loss.

Reasons for Applying to Abdominoplasty

  • Sagging of the skin of the abdomen
  • Sagging and deformities due to the tear in the abdominal muscles in the postpartum period
  • Elimination of stretch marks accompanying sagging skin on the abdomen
  • Skin and subcutaneous tissue sagging accompanying excessive fat in the abdomen

Abdominoplasty

Abdominoplasty is an operation that takes approximately 2 hours under general anesthesia. In patients with excessive fat in the abdominal tissue and herniation due to muscle tears, the duration of the operation may be slightly longer. After the surgery, drains that draw the dirty blood in the abdomen are placed and we put on the tummy tuck corset. Our hospital stay is 1 day. The next day after the surgery, the patient can go home after the first check-up.

Abdominoplasty techniques; It is performed with two methods, which will be decided according to the degree of sagging of the skin and subcutaneous fat tissue. These include mini tummy tuck; It is applied to patients who do not have excess skin and tissue above the navel, but only have a slight excess of skin and fat tissue in the underbelly area. In classical tummy tuck, there is sagging and excess skin in the lower and upper umbilical region. In classical tummy tuck, if you have given birth by cesarean section before, even if you do not have such a scar, all the sagging tissue under the navel is removed with an incision made from the lowest part of the abdomen so that it remains within your weight line. At the same time, the loosened abdominal muscles are folded inward and narrowed with the help of sutures. The belly button is removed from the remaining skin in the abdomen through a newly opened hole and placed in its new place.

Pain After Abdominoplasty

It is normal to feel intense pain for an average of 3 days due to the swelling and stretching of the tissue due to the sutures we use to tighten the abdominal muscles after abdominoplasty. However, this pain gradually decreases after the 3rd day and completely disappears in the 1st week.

Recovery After Abdominoplasty

Bruising and swelling in the abdominal tissue will continue for approximately 15 days after abdominoplasty. We recommend cream to remove these swellings and bruises and we tell you not to remove your abdominal corset for at least 6 weeks. We remove the drains that draw the dirty blood in the abdomen on the 3rd or 5th day after the surgery. We allow showering after the drain is removed. After the surgery, we recommend that you walk slightly forward in order to prevent the stitches placed on the abdominal muscles and providing tightness in the muscles for about 15 days. After the drains are removed, the first dressing is done, then we recommend that you do your dressings every day and use your antibiotics regularly. You should stay away from exercises that will force your abdominal muscles for at least 2 months, but doing non-heavy exercises and walks will also increase your blood circulation and recovery process. Approximately 8-10 cm long scars under the bikini and pant line will lose their red color after 6 months and remain as stretch marks.

Side Effects That May Occur After Abdominoplasty

Infection: It can be seen very rarely, especially in individuals with diabetes. It can be prevented in the early period with antibiotic treatment.
Blood Accumulation: It is observed in cases where the drains do not work adequately or if the patient drinks blood thinners. By intervening in the early period, the accumulated blood is emptied.
Bad Scarring: It can be encountered if the patient’s wound healing status is distressed and the body is genetically predisposed to leave scar tissue and excessive healing. In this case, de-marking injection procedures may be necessary.

Arm Lift

We call arm lift surgery for the treatment of sagging in the arms due to excessive weight gain and loss and loss of skin elasticity due to aging, as well as the reduction of subcutaneous fat tissue.

Reasons for Applying to Arm Lift Surgery

  • Skin sagging due to aging on the arm skin
  • Sagging in the arm lesson and adipose tissue due to excessive weight gain
  • Arm skin sagging after weight loss operations such as sleeve gastrectomy surgery

Arm Lift Surgery

Arm lift surgery is an operation that takes 1.5-2.5 hours under general anesthesia, depending on the degree of sagging. If the sagging of the arm skin is limited or there is only sagging in the parts of the upper arm close to the armpit, the incision is made so that it remains only under the armpit. However, since this sagging extends up to the elbow most of the time, the incision to be made starts from the armpit and extends to the elbow, staying on the inside of the arm. All sagging skin and subcutaneous adipose tissue are removed. While dissolving stitches are placed in the cut areas, non-absorbable support stitches can also be placed in order to prevent stitch opening due to arm movements. Elastic bandages are placed on the arm after the operation. The patient is discharged after one day of hospitalization.

Postoperative Pain

After arm lift surgery, a slight pain may be felt due to tension and swelling in the arm. However, this pain can be easily prevented with painkillers.

Post-Surgery Recovery

Bruising and swelling on the arm after arm lift surgery will continue for about 15 days. We recommend a bruise cream to remove these swellings and bruises, and we tell you not to remove the elastic bandage that we apply to your arm for at least 4 weeks. On the 3rd day we are allowed to take a shower. We recommend restricting arm movements for about 15 days after the surgery and starting sports that work the arm muscles in about 2 months. We recommend regular dressing for about 15 days. Massage in the form of a daily 10-minute rubbing on the arm can increase blood circulation and healing, as well as help the swelling in the arm disappear in the early period. The incision scar, which remains on the inside of the arm and cannot be seen unless the arm is lifted up, will lose its red color after 6 months and remain as a stretch mark.

Side Effects That May Occur After Surgery

Infection Occurrence: It can be seen very rarely, especially in people with diabetes. It can be prevented in the early period with antibiotic treatment.
Blood Accumulation: It is observed when the patient drinks blood thinners. By intervening in the early period, the accumulated blood is emptied.
Bad Scarring: It can be encountered if the patient’s wound healing status is troubled and the body is genetically predisposed to leaving scar tissue and excessive healing. In this case, additional anti-marking treatments may be necessary.
Loss of Sensation: There may be numbness at the incision sites for about 6 months. This is normal and temporary.

Thigh Lift

We call thigh lift surgery, which is performed for the treatment of sagging caused by excessive weight gain and loss and loss of skin elasticity due to aging, as well as the decrease in subcutaneous fat tissue.

Reasons for Applying to Thigh Lift Surgery

  • Skin sagging due to aging on the thigh skin
  • Sagging in the arm lesson and adipose tissue due to excessive weight gain
  • Thigh skin sagging after weight loss operations such as sleeve gastrectomy surgery

Thigh Lift Surgery

Thigh lift surgery is an operation that takes 3-4 hours under general anesthesia, depending on the degree of sagging. If the sagging of the thigh skin is limited or there is only sagging in the parts of the thigh close to the groin area, the incision is made so that only the groin remains. However, since this sagging extends to the knee most of the time, the incision to be made starts from the groin and extends to the knee in such a way that it remains in the inner part of the thigh. All sagging skin and subcutaneous adipose tissue are removed. Non-absorbable support stitches can also be placed in the cut areas to prevent stitch opening due to leg movements when placing dissolvable stitches. Drains are placed to drain the dirty blood that may accumulate in the thigh area. Elastic bandages are placed on the legs after the operation. The patient is discharged after one day of hospitalization.

Postoperative Pain

After thigh lift surgery, a slight pain may be felt due to tension and swelling. However, this pain can be easily prevented with painkillers.

Post-Surgery Recovery

Bruising and swelling on the thighs after thigh lift surgery will continue for about 15 days. We recommend a bruise cream to remove these swellings and bruises, and we tell you not to remove the elastic bandage we apply to the legs for at least 4 weeks. On the 3rd day, we pull the drains and allow to take a shower. We recommend restricting leg movements for about 15 days after the surgery and starting sports that work the leg muscles in about 2 months. We recommend regular dressing for about 15 days. Massage in the form of a daily 10-minute rubbing on the legs can increase blood circulation and healing, as well as help the swelling in the legs disappear in the early period. The scars remaining on the inside of the leg will lose their red color after 6 months and remain in the form of stretch marks.

Infection formation: It can be seen very rarely, especially in people with diabetes.
