Skin sparing mastectomy

This surgery can be performed in cases where the breast volume is small, the tumor is multifocal, but the nipple and skin are healthy, and conservative surgery is not suitable. The main purpose is to ensure the formation of new breasts in the same session.

If the nipple is not affected by cancer, since it is cosmetically important, the nipple is preserved and the breast tissue is removed within the limits of mastectomy by proceeding under the skin with an appropriate incision. In cases where the nipple is held by the tumor, the same procedure can be performed by removing the nipple.
Afterwards, the appropriate sized permanent silicone prosthesis is placed behind the chest muscle. Sometimes the breast structured from the person’s own muscle can also be placed.
