Deviation, that is, a curved nose, is a serious health problem that affects a large part of the population and is usually not noticed by patients. Patients may not realize that they have deviations and such complaints because they have vague complaints such as dry mouth, sleep problems, snoring, waking up tired in the morning, cough, bad breath and weakness. Most of them are diagnosed during the examination.

After diagnosis, the only treatment is surgery. There is no medical treatment. Depending on the structure of the patient’s nose, only the curvature of the bone, namely the deviation, can be corrected, and if there is concomitant deformity and deformation, it may need to be corrected in the same session.
The surgery is performed under general or local anesthesia. I prefer general anesthesia more. If the surgery will be for deviation only, the incisions are made from the inside and there is no trace of the surgery on the outside. The operation time is approximately 20 minutes. I do not apply tampons to the patient after the operation. For this, I stitch the patient’s nose with fusible threads. The patient can be discharged on the same day. and, if he wishes, he can return to his normal life by returning to work the next day.
After the control is done in the first week of the operation, the treatment of the patient is completed.

When nose surgery is mentioned, septoplasty, rhinoplasty, endoscopic sinus surgeries performed on the nose should be understood. The most feared part of nose surgeries is tampons and similar materials placed in the nose after the surgery. Apart from putting them into the nose, they also need to be removed. Removing such a material from an operated nose can be quite painful. In order to prevent this situation, which is the fearful dream of our patients, I perform the operations with a special suture technique that I have been using for many years. All our operations are performed under general anesthesia.

The septoplasty period lasts for about 20 minutes, and after the operation, the patient is discharged after a 3-hour rest period when they are released from anesthesia. Control is done during the week of the operation. This is sufficient in septoplasty operations. However, in rhinoplasty and endoscopic sinus surgery operations, the controls may increase depending on the patient’s condition.
