Screen exposure

What is meant by the word screen is all screen devices such as televisions, tablets, phones and computers. Screen time refers to the time spent with all these screen devices. While the American Pediatric Association (APA) does not recommend screen exposure before 18 months in the directive published in 2016, if it is desired to introduce screens between 18-24 months, they should choose qualified programs and help them understand what is going on by watching them, and it should be limited to 1 hour a day between 24 months and 5 years old, Parents are advised to be consistent in limiting screen time for children aged 5 and over and to ensure that this time does not interfere with sleep and physical activity. It is known that being in front of the screen for a long time causes lack of physical activity, attention problems, vision problems, aggressive behaviors and sleep problems. The place, time, content and duration of screen use should be subject to certain rules, and all these precautions should be explained to the child and in cooperation with the child.
