Changes in technology in recent years have reached incredible proportions. With the pandemic, many things in our lives have gone online. And in this period when we are all confined to our homes, our number one occupation is undoubtedly social media platforms.

According to the researches, while the number of mobile device users in Turkey is 71 million, 48 million of them are active social media users. These individuals spend an average of 6-7 hours a day on the internet and social media, and contrary to popular belief, they do not use social media for entertainment purposes only. Social media is now the main source of actions such as work, education, access to news and shopping.

  • If you have clothes in your closet that you have never worn or items that you have never used in your home.

  • If you have trouble stopping yourself when you start spending money

  • If you are pushing the limits of your credit card with the purchases you make or even unable to pay

  • If you are afraid of missing the discounts, You may be addicted to shopping.

Ways to Get Rid of Shopping Addiction:

  • Do not make a purchase without providing these three items;

1- Do I really need this product?

2- Do I have any money to buy?

3- Do I have time to get it?

  • Before you go shopping, create a list of needs and have your relatives confirm the items on the list (partner, family, close friend, etc.)

  • Do not use a credit card for your purchases or reduce the limit considerably if you are going to use it.

  • Delete campaign messages from the phone without reading them

  • It may be difficult for you, but unfollow influencers promoting products

  • If you want to shop just to be happy when you are in a negative mood, realize this and turn to other activities that can make you happy.
