Curcumin is thought to exert its therapeutic effect through its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. In particular, laboratory tests with various animals have confirmed anti-cancer effects on the stomach, intestines, liver and skin. Even advanced metastasis formation can be reduced with proven curcumin.

A clinical development plan for the use of curcumin to treat cancer was also recently defined by the American National Cancer Institute.
