Nose Tip Aesthetics

The most striking part of the nose is the tip of the nose, and this area is also very important from an aesthetic point of view. It consists of the uppermost joining points of the cartilage in the form of two “n” letters that make the nose wings. It has many different types and has characteristic features among races. Its height, width and angles are very important. The skin of this region has the thickest skin structure in the nose.

While the skin is thinnest at the root of the nose, it thickens as it comes to the tip of the nose, and the number and density of the intradermal glands increase. It is also possible to correct only this area surgically, but a good planning should be done before the operation so that the rest of the patient’s nose can adapt to the result to be achieved. Not every patient may be a suitable candidate for nasal tip aesthetics, so the patient should discuss this issue in detail with his doctor. It is not always correct for a patient with an arched nose to request nasal tip aesthetics. Generally, the right candidates are the patients whose other aesthetic units of the nose are uneventful.

Nose tip aesthetic surgery; It is the correction process applied only to the cartilage at the tip of the nose without touching the cartilage structure in the middle that divides the nose into two, and the bone structure forming the back and sides of the nose. In this way, thick, drooping, long, high, narrow or wide nose tips can be reshaped. Nose wings can be narrowed. It is a procedure that can be performed under local anesthesia. It is a one-hour operation in which the angle of the nose with the lip can be changed, the tip of the nose can be lifted and thinned, and it does not cause breathing problems. If necessary, tampons can be placed at the end of the operation and a plaster cast can be applied. It is also possible to do without tampons and plaster.

The decision should be left to the plastic surgeon who performed your surgery. If the tampon is placed, it is removed on the 2nd day. If you have a plaster cast, it is removed or changed on the 5th day and a new plaster can be applied. On the 10th day, the plaster is completely removed and the massage is started. It usually takes 3 months to reach the targeted result, and the swelling to completely disappear. During this period, especially skin thickness plays an important role. In patients with thick nasal skin or in patients who have had a previous nasal surgery, the time to return to the previous thickness of the skin can take between 3 months and a year. In this surgery, there is much less bruising and swelling compared to standard Rhinoplasty (aesthetic nose surgery) surgery. Return to normal life after the procedure is quite short and there is usually no pain.
