What should the patient pay attention to before rhinoplasty?
Since very sensitive procedures are performed in rhinoplasty surgeries, it is desirable to have as little bleeding as possible during the surgery. Before this surgery, you should not use drugs with blood thinners and nutritional supplements.
You can stop medications that dilute blood, such as aspirin, at least 1 week before under the supervision of a doctor.
Herbal teas such as green tea, ginger, turmeric, garlic, all products containing Omega 3, Ginseng, Gingo biloba, Vitain E, as they can increase bleeding, stay away from foods and drinks like this.

When Are Tampons and Plaster Removed? Is It A Painful Procedure?
One of the most feared issues after rhinoplasty is tampons. We put silicone perforated tampons in our patients. These tampons are not cloth tampons that stick to the inside of the nose used in old times. Silicone tampons do not stick to the nose and allow the patient to breathe because they are perforated. -We get it after 7 days. Contrary to popular belief, it is a painless procedure that takes 10-15 seconds.
Will the Nose Fall in the Future?
In the surgery performed with the closed technique, there is no risk since the cartilage connective tissue and muscle tissue are preserved. However, after rhinoplasty, there may be an increase and decrease in the tip of the nose between 2-5 mm depending on the technique applied. This is an inevitable situation with the effect of gravity. It is ensured that it remains at the desired height after the operation by making a few mm more during the operation.
When Can I Return To My Normal Life?
Generally, you can return to your normal life within 10-15 days. On the 1st day after the operation, you can take a bath with not very hot water without wetting the bandage and tampon. You can wear glasses 6-8 weeks after the operation. After 10 days, walking and jogging after 3 weeks, more heavy exercises. You can go to the sea after 3 weeks. After 7-10 days, you can travel by plane.
What should be considered after rhinoplasty surgery?
In order to protect your nose from trauma and reduce swelling after the surgery, it is recommended to raise the head as much as possible with a pillow while lying down.
Since bending forward will increase the blood pressure on the face area, such movements should be avoided for the first 3 weeks.
Heavy exercises and lifting heavy loads should not be done in the first 3 weeks.
Nose blowing should not be done for the first 3 weeks. Nasal washing should be done with the solutions given.
Trauma is one of the most important issues to be considered after rhinoplasty. Especially in the first 6 months, we must protect our nose against trauma.
Necessary medications are prescribed to prevent situations such as sneezing, but if sneezing occurs, one should not try to cover the mouth.
