Nose Aesthetics

Rhinoplasty; These are surgeries performed to reshape the nose. Most of the time, the breathing problem, which is related to structural disorders along with deformity, is also corrected.
What Is Aimed With Rhinoplasty?
The size of the nose is brought to a size compatible with other facial structures.
When the nose is viewed from the profile, the arch or the collapse of the nose is corrected.
The projection of the tip of the nose is corrected. (Increase or decrease.
Noticeable when viewed from the front; the width of the nose, the large nostrils, the size of the tip of the nose are corrected.
Curvatures and other asymmetries in the nose are corrected.
When correcting asymmetry, it should be noted that almost everyone has some degree of obvious or indistinct asymmetry on their face. Therefore, instead of providing complete symmetry in nose surgeries, the aim is to harmonize the nose with the other structures of the face.
To Whom Can It Be Done?
Men and women who have completed their facial development and have passed puberty.
Physically and mentally healthy individuals. Those who do not have physical problems that prevent surgery.
Those who have realistic expectations from nose surgery. Before nose surgery, the person should know what kind of result he will face.
Rhinoplasty Surgery
Rhinoplasty surgery is performed in two ways, open and closed. In open surgery, an indistinct scar remains in the area called “columella” at the lower part of the tip of the nose. In closed surgery, the scar remains inside the nostrils. In our clinic, both techniques are used according to the patient.
Anesthesia
We use local anesthesia, intravenous sedation or general anesthesia according to the patient.
Before Surgery
Blood analysis, chest X-ray and ECG examinations are performed, and whether there is an obstacle to anesthesia is investigated.
An interview is held to decide what kind of nose shape the patient wants and to decide on the path to be followed. What kind of result will be obtained after the operation with computerized designs is discussed with the patient.
What kind of nose the patient will encounter after the operation becomes clear with this interview.
Postoperative
The operation takes about 1.5 hours. We usually perform primary rhinoplasty operations under general anesthesia. In special cases, we can also do it with local or sedation anesthesia.
Those who receive general anesthesia stay in the hospital for one day, those who receive local anesthesia do not need to stay in the hospital.
On the first day after the surgery, ice is applied to minimize swelling and bruising.
After the operation, you will not be able to breathe through your nose for two days, and you will have trouble breathing through your nose for ten days.
After the operation, we apply a plaster bandage for one week, but we increase this period to two weeks in necessary patients. We do plaster and bandage for 10 days, we only bandage for the last four days.
Generally, when the bandage is removed, the swelling and bruises around the nose and eyes are gone. At the end of this period, you can return to your social life.
You must protect your nose from trauma for three months after the surgery and you cannot wear scar glasses during this period. –
Most of the swelling goes down in the first three weeks.
Three or the nose gains 70-80% of its final shape.
However, it takes 1-1.5 years for it to take its full shape and form the contours of the nose.
