Migraine is a type of headache that occurs with many other complaints such as nausea, vomiting, double vision, is mostly focused on one half of the head, is extremely disturbed by light and sound, has different types and comes in seizures. In order to diagnose migraine; At least two of the following should be present. Unilateral headache, throbbing character, moderate or severe pain that worsens with routine activities. It should also have at least one of the following. Nausea and/or vomiting, discomfort from light and sound. The cause of migraine is mostly psychological. Usually, the subconscious reason is anger and thoughts of worthlessness. These people are usually angry, they think that everyone is treating them badly. It is more common in people who usually have obsessions, always want to keep control, meticulous, detail-oriented and perfectionist. It is three times more common in women than men. Today’s treatments for migraine are not aimed at the cause, but to relieve the symptoms. The person under drug treatment may also have a migraine attack. These people live with the fear that severe pain may start at any time, and they may become depressed. This triggers migraine.
The factors that trigger migraine attacks are very diverse and vary from person to person. The main ones are:
-Intense physical activity
-Hunger, skipping meals,
-Smoking, smoky environments,
-Blows to the head,
– Insomnia or change in sleep patterns,
-Hormonal changes; menopause period, menstruation or before, pregnancy, birth control pills,
-Some foods: chocolate, milk, cheese, salami, sausage, tomatoes, potatoes, tea, coffee.
The hypnosis-assisted holistic psychotherapy we apply is very successful in the treatment of migraine. Hypnotherapy also supports drug therapy, it is a form of treatment with successful results in people who do not want to continue drug therapy or cannot benefit from its side effects. In hypnotherapy, age regression is performed to go to the moment when the problem first started, the initiating factor is found, eliminated and permanent treatment is provided. The patient is taught how to self-hypnosis when an attack occurs. When a migraine attack comes, the patient’s symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and double vision are completely resolved, the headache complaint is reduced to an acceptable level or it is felt in another way (it is suggested that there will be no headache, instead it will feel itchy in the palm). As a result of the applications, the resistance to triggering factors increases quite rapidly, the seizure intervals are getting longer and the person gets out of the grip of migraine-related life.
