Leg Aesthetics

Shapely and long legs are the dream of all women. In addition to a good genetic heritage for straight legs, sports, conscious nutrition and weight control are also important. If the desired appearance cannot be achieved despite these, the help of plastic surgery comes to the fore. Although it is not possible to extend the leg length with aesthetic surgery operations, fat deposits located in unwanted areas can be destroyed by methods such as liposuction, and the leg length can be perceived as longer. Thin and crooked legs are treated with fat and filler injections, or a permanent and successful leg prosthesis. (implant)can be corrected by implementation.

While fat deposits in the hips, thighs, knees and ankles of the legs can be thinned and shaped by liposuction methods, fat injections are generally preferred in cases where the upper leg is thin.

Thinness or curvature in the lower leg area can create difficulties even in the choice of clothes in daily life. Thin legs can be thickened. By placing the leg implants appropriately, the space between the legs is reduced and the leg looks more straight.

Correcting Thin and Crooked Legs

It is one of the deformities that damage the self-confidence of women. It may not be possible to hide severely crooked legs even with trousers. The deformity is sometimes just a hollow under the knees, sometimes the bone structure of the legs is smooth, but the calves are very thin, sometimes in the form of ‘bracket legs’. The methods that can be recommended according to the existing deformity are determined by the doctor’s examination.

filler injection; Hyaluronic acid-containing ready-made fillers are the most commonly used fillers such as hyla-corp or macrolane. The average retention time is 2 years. The biggest advantage of these fillers is that immediate results can be obtained without a recovery period without surgery. Their use in excessive amounts may cause allergic reactions. The biggest disadvantage is that they are not permanent.

Fat injection and stem cell transfer; Generally, the fat taken from around the belly is subjected to a special process and injected into the required areas. It is performed in the hospital with local anesthesia and sedation. The injected oil 60-70%’ i is permanent. Rarely, a second session is required. It can be preferred especially in the recesses in the knee.

Leg prosthesis (Calf implant); Similar to the breast prosthesis, the desired volume and fullness in the calf area is achieved with implants made of silicone. The implants used are manufactured for lifetime use. In cases where the legs are curved, the implants are placed on the inside of the legs to reduce the gap between the legs. Calf prostheses can be symmetrical or asymmetrical, in various sizes and volumes. Usually, the prosthesis is selected according to the person’s leg length and leg thinness. I generally prefer symmetrical prostheses in my female patients. Thus, while providing an aesthetic fullness in the calf area, I prefer asymmetrical prostheses in male patients in order to obtain a muscular appearance.

Calf prostheses can be applied under general anesthesia or local anesthesia supported by sedation in hospital operating room conditions. The operation takes an average of 1 hour.

With calf prostheses selected and applied correctly according to the patient’s anatomy, it is possible to obtain fuller, smoother and more aesthetically pleasing legs.
