Is the covid-19 epidemic ending?

The COVID-19 epidemic, which emerged in Wuhan, China in the last months of 2019 and spread to the whole world in a few months, has been in waves for more than two years. With the introduction of vaccines last year, we were able to survive without complete closure. It was seen that those who lost their lives in intensive care units were primarily unvaccinated. Unvaccinated people under the age of 60 died due to the extreme reactions caused by the virus in the body. Cases over the age of 80 died due to old age and accompanying diseases. Significant decreases were observed in mortality rates with the introduction of vaccines. As time passed, it became clear that vaccines alone would not be enough to end the epidemic. For this reason, the protection of social distance, mask and hygiene rules together with the vaccine will continue to be the basic measures necessary to end the epidemic in new waves that may be seen from now on.
