Iodine ; It is the main component of thyroid hormones. You’ve heard of this; Hypothyroidism is more common in iodine-deficient soils. However, excessive use of iodine also negatively affects thyroid secretion. In Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, iodine is restricted. So again, there is a balance.

To prevent iodine deficiency, salt is iodized and it works. WHO’s recommended daily intake is 150 mcg. We can meet this need by consuming 2 grams of iodized salt daily. Continuity is of course important.

Adding salt to the food after cooking and keeping the salt in a cool and dark environment ensures that the iodine content is preserved.

As for selenium; Selenium is a very important mineral that participates in hormone and enzyme structures in the body. It protects the thyroid gland from autoimmune attacks and is also an antioxidant. The daily intake recommendation is 70 mcg.
