Thanks to hypnosis, we can reach the unconscious of the person much more easily with the mind focused on himself. It may be easier for him to notice vital events that he does not notice or think he has forgotten in daily life, but are actually important to him.

IS HYPNOSIS A SLEEP STATE?

Hypnosis is not a state of sleep, it is a mental state in which attention and perception are greatly increased and the person turns to himself. When the brain waves measured by EEG are evaluated, there are four basic mind waves in the human mind.

Beta waves: (14Hz-30Hz) Full alertness and awareness

Alpha waves: (8Hz-14Hz) Relaxed, relaxed, but alert. mild hypnotic state

Theta waves: (4Hz-8Hz) Sleepy, lethargic and deep hypnotic state (the first stage of sleep)

Delta waves: (0.5Hz-4Hz) It is seen in deep sleep.

In hypnosis, the conscious part of the mind evaluates and judges what happens in the hypnotic experience.

CAN EVERYONE BE HYPNOSIS?

Children are very prone to hypnosis. For the first five years, children are in natural hypnosis, everything that is said in daily life easily reaches the unconscious. The most prone to hypnosis is between the ages of 6 and 10. 10-15% of the population do not have a predisposition to hypnosis, they cannot be hypnotized. While 70-80% of the society has a moderate susceptibility to hypnosis, 10-15% has a high-level susceptibility.

Those with certain personality traits cannot be hypnotized. It is difficult for those with paranoid disorder and schizophrenia to enter hypnosis, and it is not correct to apply hypnosis to those who already have this condition. Those with obsessive-compulsive disorder and those with a controlling personality have a low susceptibility to hypnosis.
