The hymen is a thin tissue fold with a thickness of 2-3 mm, located at the entrance of the vagina in women. This tissue is located approximately 2-3 cm inside the vaginal entrance. This membrane, on which there are fine capillaries, can be of various shapes. It is usually shaped like a half moon. Thanks to the veins on it, it is torn during the first intercourse and bleeding occurs as a result.
