What is hair transplantation?

Hair transplantation operation is the process of placing the hair follicles taken from the scalp on your neck to the required area. The aim of this surgery is to achieve a better image than the current situation by planting as much as possible in the areas where the hair is lost or decreased.

Hair transplantation under local anesthesia, which can be applied to both men and women, is a surgical procedure that offers a definite and permanent solution to baldness. Hair transplantation can be applied to completely spilled or diluted areas. Since the transplanted hair is taken from the area that is genetically coded not to fall out, they are permanent for life.

In the solution of hair problems, it is important to investigate the cause of hair loss, to take precautions for this problem and then to apply hair transplantation procedures if necessary.

The duration of the operation may take between 3-8 hours depending on the amount of follicles to be transplanted.

Hair Transplantation can be done with FUT or FUE methods.

In the FUT method, a strip of skin is taken from the nape of the neck and hair follicles are prepared, and this area is closed by suturing.

In the FUE method, the hair follicles are taken from the nape area one by one with the appropriate motor support and transferred to the necessary areas. No stitches are used, the recovery time is much shorter. It is possible to apply more than one session in the FUE method.

In order to reduce the possibility of problems, antibiotics, painkillers and similar drugs recommended by the doctor should be used without interruption after the surgery, dressing and bandage should be applied regularly. When there is a problem with the surgery, it should be discussed with the doctor who performed the surgery first, as he is the person who will best evaluate the source and solution of the problem.

The transplanted hair will start to grow after about 3-4 months. Some of the transplanted hair may not hold. As a result, traces of some planting areas can be seen. However, this problem is not enough to spoil the person’s appearance.

80% of the transplanted hair will be activated within the first 9 months. For this reason, it is appropriate to wait at least 9-12 months for the following sessions.
