Breast Augmentation

The chest, which is an erogenic organ, symbolizes femininity and also plays an important role in the physical appearance of women. Every woman wishes to have aesthetically beautiful breasts. However, due to double or unilateral developmental defects of the breasts or weight loss after pregnancy, the breast tissue may lose its volume and may be smaller than normal. In such cases, it is possible to obtain larger, fuller, larger, more aesthetically beautiful breasts with breast aesthetic surgeries performed to enlarge and plump the breasts. When breast augmentation surgery alone is applied to breasts that have decreased fullness, loosened, deflated and eventually sagged a little, the loosened breast tissue often continues to hang over the silicone. In such breasts, it is more correct to perform the aesthetic breast augmentation operation together with the breast lift operation.

In MeEsthetic breast augmentation surgeries, breasts are enlarged with silicone prostheses that are known to almost everyone. Silicone has no harmful effects on the body. Silicone is an inert substance, that is, it does not interact chemically with the organism after it is placed in the body, and its molecular structure always remains the same. Scientific studies have proven that silicone does not cause breast cancer.

There are 2 types of breast prostheses according to the material they contain:

1- Silicone breast prostheses containing saline: It contains saline, that is, salt water, in a capsule made of silicone. It is not a foreign substance for our body. Since its consistency is the same as that of the breast tissue, its presence is not felt when palpated from the outside.

2- Silicone-containing breast prostheses: These types of breast prostheses have 2 types according to the consistency of the silicone they contain:

I- Those containing liquid silicone: Liquid silicone has a soft consistency and flowing properties. Since the softness of the liquid silicone is close to the softness of the breast structure, the presence of the liquid silicone prosthesis is not felt when the breast is palpated from the outside.

II- Those containing cohesive silicone: It has a thicker consistency and solidity than liquid silicone, therefore it is not fluid. Since the consistency is darker and a little harder than liquid silicone, when the breast is palpated from the outside, the presence of the breast prosthesis inside can be felt. It has a harder consistency than other types of prostheses.

There are 2 types of breast prostheses according to their shape:

1. Round silicones: This type of silicone is in the form of a hemisphere. After they are placed in the chest, they also create fullness in the upper part of the chest.

2. Anatomical, that is, drop silicones: This type of silicone is in the form of falling drops. Their shape is more suited to the natural shape of the chest. After they are placed in the chest, they create fullness in the lower part of the chest.
