BOTOX

BOTOX

The most important clinical sign of skin aging is wrinkles. Volume loss and natural skin thinning are seen in the skin due to the decrease of dermal collagen, hyaluronic acid and elastin over time. Sun exposure and smoking accelerate this process. It also contributes to the formation of visible lines and wrinkles in the contraction of facial muscles. Initially, lines and wrinkles appear during active facial expressions such as anger and laughter, but over time they become visible during rest.

WHAT IS BOTOX? HOW DOES IT EFFECT?

It is a protein called neurotoxin obtained from a bacterium called Clostridium Botulinum. When applied to the target muscles, it affects the muscle-nerve junction and causes temporary reductions in muscle contractions. In this way, wrinkles are smoothed out in the treated area.

HOW LONG DOES THE EFFECT LAST?

The effect of Botox starts on the 3rd day after it is made, the effect settles on the 10th day and lasts for about 4-6 months depending on the age of the person and the area where it is applied.

WHO CAN BE DONE?

Botox is not applied to pregnant and lactating women. Botox is not applied to people who have neuromuscular disorders or bleeding problems and who have skin disease in the area where treatment is desired.

H AT WHAT AGE SHOULD IT BE DONE?

This issue depends on the person. Since wrinkles due to mimics usually appear in the 30s, it is recommended to start doing it at this age, but it can also be done in the 20s for people who use some of their mimics very intensely and whose wrinkles appear early.

WHAT ARE THE RISKS?

The side effects of Botox application are very few and temporary. There may be a mild headache, bruising that heals in a few days and can be covered with makeup. If the botox drug slides towards a point close to the eyelid due to incorrect application, a situation such as a temporary drooping of the upper eyelid may occur. However, this is a very rare side effect.

WHAT SHOULD BE CONSIDERED AFTER THE APPLICATION?

  • Patients can return to their normal business life immediately after the application.
  • After the procedure, it is necessary not to smoke, drink alcohol or apply make-up for about 6 hours.
  • After the application, it is necessary not to engage in strenuous physical activity for 24 hours, not to do skin care and facial massage, and not to go to the hairdresser.
  • You should not enter the sauna, Turkish bath and pool until 3 days after the application.
